Schedule

A high-level picture of the construction project schedule as of August, 2023 is shown here.

Update / item tracking

Tasks identified February 2025:

Spectrograph

  1. continued work on alignment, esp with “point” source
  2. installation of prism
  3. installation of camera
  4. installation of focuser + detector
  5. testing with calibration source? solar source?

Calibration channel

  1. assembly of relay optics / stage at focal plane
  2. development of calibration source : Shelyak possibility? Selectable sources by stage? Integrating sphere?

Fiber

  1. getting long fiber run + ferrule. All circular fiber? match 125 micron cladding or not? Fusing 50/75/125 micron cladding onto other 50 micron fiber at focal plane side? Fusing hexagonal fiber onto circular 50 micron fiber at ferrule side?
  2. running fiber through conduit

Spectrograph room

  1. legs for table
  2. insulating box for spectrograph
  3. making room in APO room
  4. confirming power (UPS) and Ethernet
  5. relay/thermocouple control/computer packaging
  6. location of pump
  7. more thermocouples for monitoring instrument

FPU box

  1. cover
  2. cabling

Dome

  1. lower slit control
  2. packaging of dome control
  3. spare computer and Raspberry Pi?

Software

  1. interfacing Aarhus with APO
