About Me
I earned a PhD in Astronomy from NMSU in May 2013.
My research involved galaxy evolution and formation through
studies of faint emission of gas and stars in galaxy outskirts with Dr.
Rene Walterbos. My thesis was concerned with star formation in galaxy outer disks
and the role of accretion of gas and faint companions in galaxy evolution.
I successfully defended my PhD dissertation on April 5, 2013. A copy
of the slides from my colloquium can be found on my
research page.
A synopsis of my dissertation work, using only the ten hundred most used
words, can be found here:

What's New?
I spent the summer
working at the University of Edinburgh School of Informatics
and the Royal Observatory of Edinburgh as a
Partnerships for International Research and Education (PIRE) Fellow with the
Open Science Data Cloud.
I currently work with the Open Science Data Cloud in a postdoctoral position at the University of Chicago's
Institute for Genomics and Systems Biology in the Laboratory for Advanced Computing under Dr. Robert Grossman.
