Under the combined forces of magnetism and gravity the two modes again remain distinct. Gravity waves can propagate at frequencies less than ωBV at small horizontal wavevector (essentially the Lorentz force opposes the transverse variation), and at frequencies greater than vA2kx2 (Lou 1995). There are also a pair of upward- and downward- propagating waves at frequencies greater and less than ωBV respectively.
