After the observing, I took the opportunity to get in some extra relaxation and sightseeing on the Big Island. I stayed in Kona, on the west coast.
The drive from Hilo to Kona took about an hour and a half. Driving around the north side of the island, I was able to see more of the dense jungle greenery that I had seen when first arriving. However, since I was busy driving, I didn't take any pictures.
