Of course, you are welcomed to bring your own laptop (or even desktop!) to the department. HOWEVER, do note that the department policy on assistance with computers is as follows: Zach and Jon are only responsible for the department computers which we have admin privileges on. For personal computers / laptops, the user is responsible. Zach and Jon will assist on a **best efforts** basis only. With understanding that our solution might be to "use the cluster".   Of course, you are welcomed to bring your own laptop (or even desktop!) to the department.  +If you bring a personal laptop (or desktop) you will have to register your computer via netreg.nmsu.edu. This is done by connecting your device to the web / wifi / Ethernet connection then navigate to netreg.nmsu.edu via a browser. Follow the prompts on screen.
 +
+**This should be done by the user.** Jon and Zach can help if needed.
 +
+**A note on ethernet ports**- not all ethernet ports are automatically enabled. If you need a port enabled, please contact Zach via the issues email alias. They will have to contact ICT to get these enabled.
