You will register for SPD 2011 online at the AAS registration site. The deadline by which to do so online is June 1, 2011. You also may pay your abstract fee ($30 each) when you are registering for oral and poster presentations. You will also be able to book activities such as the banquet and the excursion (same price irregardless of membership), so you may want to review those options here before completing your registration.

Once you have paid the abstract fee, please submit your abstract.

Member registration

Members are allowed to submit up to 5 abstracts, with a limit of 1 oral presentation.

Students

Undergraduate and graduate students (members and non-members) are encouraged to apply for studentship awards to help defray your meeting costs. The deadline for application is March 18. You will be notified by March 25 of the decision, giving you ample time to submit an abstract thereafter.

Non-member registration

Non-members are permitted only 1 abstract submission. Please note also that the SPD annual dues are considerably less than the $50 that you will pay in extra registration fees; if you are not an SPD member, consider joining now!!

Cancellations

Requests for cancellations must be received in writing to reg-help@aas.org or fax 202-234-7850.
Please allow 4-6 weeks for all refunds to be processed.

Registration
  • 9 May 2011 -- Registration refund less the $25.00 processing fee
  • 10 - 30 May 2011 -- Registration refund less the $50.00 processing fee
Banquet
  • 30 May 2011 -- Last day for refund
No refunds will be given after 30 May 2011. Registrants may sell their banquet tickets onsite to another registration during the meeting.
