ASTR 105 Lab Manual (PDF)

Most students print out the individual set of labs that their section will be doing during the coming semester (for example, go here). You can also get the entire lab manual printed out at the FedEx Office, 1001 East University Avenue (about $35). Just give the clerk the address of this page, and have them click on the PDF link above (if you encounter any problems with this process contact your TA). Each section maybe doing a different set of labs, so make sure you attend YOUR lab section as it is extremely difficult to schedule a make-up. The same version of the lab manual is used in each section of Astr105, but different faculty do different labs.

ASTR 110 Lab Manual (PDF)

Most students print out the individual set of labs that their section will be doing during the coming semester (for example, go here; Note: Do not forget to print out 8 of the observatory worksheets found at the back of the manual!). You can also get the entire lab manual printed out at the FedEx Office, 1001 East University Avenue (about $35). Just give the clerk the address of this page, and have them click on the “PDF” link above (if you encounter any problems with this  process contact your TA). Because different sections may be doing different labs, make sure you attend YOUR lab section as it is extremely difficult, or even impossible, to schedule a make-up. The same version of the lab manual is used in each section of Astr110, but different faculty do different labs. You may wish/need to use the “night time sky charts” for use at home or at the observatory.

All Courses Lab Schedule

This document shows the current schedule of all astronomy labs. They can change without notice, so contact your TA to insure you know what labs are being held when. Please use this in case you would like to attempt a  “make up” lab in some other section if you miss one, but only with the permission of your instructor/TA.

Campus Observatory

This page gives information about whether the campus observatory is open on any given night, where the campus observatory is located, dates by which Observatory Notebooks should be turned in, etc. The observatory will be open Monday & Thursday evenings 9 to 9:50 pm, weather permitting.
