+9/5/25 : Zach just went up to check on lube used for the RA drive. We have ben using Ultra Lube Moly EP Grease. Almost gone. But we have a full tub of MAG1 Moly Grease (Extreme Pressure).

+8/25/25 : installed new [[https://www.grainger.com/product/OMRON-Limit-Switch-Head-Cross-Roller-2CLX3|trigger]] for open dome limit switch that had previously broken off. Installed new torque limited coupler (see below) between motor and gear box, left if set at lowest torque setting which still allows slit to move, but slips even with relatively small counter-pressure on the slit. Slit still seems to move irregularly and as a result causes torque limiter to slip at some points. Also slit seems to have been moved (probably from last month's repair) such that the closed limit switch is never reached. Hypothesis is that cables need to be loosened, slit shifted to correct left/right positioning, then retightened. Put in work order to F&S to bring ladders, etc to accomplish this and also to lubricate the slit bearing and hopefully allow for smoother motion.

+The torque limiter consists of 3 parts:

+7/3/25 : Got a call from the first shift SSP TA that the shutter error occurred. However, the previous instructions provided where not helping. Upon inspection with the webcam, the shutter was partially opened. Zach took over, parked the dome, and force closed the dome. Once the dome was closed it was recovered. The SSP TA and Zach think the shutter got into this state via a participant quickly / repeatedly clicking on ACP buttons since there was no immediate response from TMO due to the single delay. Zach came up to TMO on 7/3 and visually inspected the shutter, motor, etc and everything looked fine! Zach was also able to open and close the dome several times with no issue.
 +
+Note, when Zach rotated the dome a few times, there was creaking noise resembling the first sign of the castor wheels going bad, however, visual inspection shows those wheels are fine. Going to keep monitoring.

6/28/25 : Upon inspecting the dome / caster wheels - the left most new wheel that we added had the plastic washer shredded in front of it. I do not think this is critical to the function of the castor wheel - but this should be monitored.  6/28/25 : Upon inspecting the dome / caster wheels - the left most new wheel that we added had the plastic washer shredded in front of it.
