Distant Galaxy Spectra - I

A collapsed two-dimensional spectrum, for which basic reduction has occurred. The image was straightened in both directions, the background flux was subtracted across the slit, and a wavelength calibration scale was then attached. What additional processing would make a redshift identification easier to make?

A two-dimensional spectrum, which has been extracted from a large multislit image of 50 galaxies. The spectrum runs from blue to red, from left to right and from top to bottom. What is the wavelength range of the spectrum? What key features are present in the spectrum?
