Recent Results in Massive Star Formation
Peter Hofner
Massive stars play an important role in virtually every area of astronomical research. They dominate the physics of the ISM on both local and global scales through their energy input via UV radiation, stellar winds, and supernova explosions. In spite of their general importance, the detailed physical mechanisms involved in forming massive stars is still very poorly understood. In this talk I will summarize current thinking and present recent observational results on this subject.
