38 of these detections appear to be massive LSBs (M_HI > 10¹⁰M_solar). Prior to this paper only 18 had been discovered.

• This is comparable to the M_HI of HSB galaxies, and so the M_HI/L_b ("gas-to-light" ratio) is quite a bit higher.

• The Median LSB M_HI/L_b = 2.8 M_solar/L_solar, while Median HSB M_HI/L_b = 0.4 M_solar/L_solar from a similar survey using HSB galaxies by Giovanelli & Hayes (1993).
