- Bothun et al. Survey Criteria:

• Morphological type is Sb or later.

• Blue Surface Brightness <μ> = m_pg + 5log(D) + 8.89 - 0.26 > 25.0 mag/arcsec²

  (This is roughly equivalent to μ > 23.0 mag/arcsec²)

• Declination between 0° and 36°. (And therefore visible for Arecibo.)

Bothun originally detected only 334 of 571 LSBs in HI. (237 non-detections)
