Simulations of Globular Formation

- Recent galactic merger simulation that has produced "globular clusters".
- Use of GADGET code with 2 x 10⁶ particles. (1 x 10⁶ gas particles, 4 x 10⁵ disk stars and 6 x 10⁵ halo dark matter)
- "Sink" particles used in high density areas to model globular formation (particles which absorb gas particles' mass and momentum, but do not allow gas to escape).
- Observed bimodal metallicity and spatial distribution between globulars formed in isolation and those formed in merger event.
