Lab #8: Heating and Cooling/Daytime Observation.

Lecture was conducted outside for this lab, so I'll just point out the terms you should be familiar with:


Albedo: The reflectance of a planet or object.

Example: Snow reflects more light than dirt.


Conduction: Heat transfer through molecular collisions.

Example: Touching something cold, and it cools down your hand.


Convection: Heat transfer through circular mixing of hot and cold fluid.

Example: The roiling motion of a pot of boiling water.


Radiation: Heat transfer through intensity of light.

Example: The warmth you feel from the sunlight hitting your face.
