-
Astronomy Picture of the Day
One of the great things about astronomy is the
wealth of pretty pictures. This site provides a new pretty picture
(along with an explanation) every day!
...like this
awesome view of Saturn, its rings, and their shadows as seen by Cassini.
-
The Nine Planets
A grand tour of the nine planets in the Solar System, along with their
moons. Ideal if you want an introduction to this locale or that.
-
Views of the Solar System
A treasure trove of many collected images of the planets, moons, and
other bodies in our Solar System.
- Bad Astronomy
Phil Plait uses this site to clear up some common misconceptions in
astronomy. He also points out bad astronomy in movies - like being able
to hear explosions in space - and debunks some popular hoaxes. He does
an especially good job with a point-by-point rebuttal of the "Moon
landing was a hoax" hoax. (We did land on the moon!)
