Hi Jon, Thanks for this offer! I would be thrilled if the class could get some ARCES spectra of Uranus and Neptune (in that priority order) during their training visit. Anna and I are scheduled for one half night on 10/28B to observe Uranus, but a) we’d love a bit more data just in case weather is an issue on our one half night allocated for this pilot study, and b) we’d love to also get Neptune data to enable a comparative study. The exact coordinates for the day/time of the observations can be obtained here: https://ssd.jpl.nasa.gov/horizons/app.html#/ I’d be happy to answer questions about that if they have any since there is A LOT of info that can be generated by Horizons. Although Uranus should resolvable in good seeing, it’s fine to just center the slit on the disk of the planet. We’d also want a spectra of bright nearby A0V and G2V stars for calibration purposes. Let me know if you need more info. Nancy
