Research
My thesis advisor is Dr. Tom Harrison. We are currently working on defining a
mass-radius relationship for the secondary stars of cataclysmic variables.
There is some debate over the current status and evolutionary history of these
secondary stars, and we hope to contribute to the resolution of this question.
The red star centered in the photo above is an unusual erupting supergiant
(V838 Monocerotis); during a recent outburst it brightened to more than
600,000 times solar luminosity. Light is reflecting off of surrounding shells
of dust to form the striking nebular features.
I would like to acknowledge generous support from the New Mexico
Space Grant Consortium.

I completed an M.S. degree at NMSU in 2003.
