Research

My research efforts at the City University of New York have involved black holes, and Bose-Einstein condensates. I focused on solving Einstein's field equations for a perfect fluid, coupled to the non-linear Gross-Pitaevski equation. This is equivalent to placing a quantum fluid within the Schwarzchild radius of a black hole, to evaluate changes in the metric. The result is a family of potential solutions, some of which could be parameterized to be physically sensible.

I have also worked as a research intern at the Los Alamos National Laboratory, cataloging astronomical survey data and searching for evidence pointing to black hole jets in the galactic center.

I began my graduate studies in Fall 2006, working with Dr. Rene Walterbos in the Galactic research group. Some of my current interests include active galactic nuclei and supernovae, but I am interested in a wide variety of astronomical topics!

My work has been partially supported by a Diversity Fellowship from the NMSU Graduate School.
