Distribution of Exam 1 Scores
PLOT NOT YET AVAILABLE. Letter grades are not provided because your letter grade in this class will be determined by the overall distribution of points at the end of the semester. However, here you can see where your exam 1 score falls within the distribution of exam 1 scores. In my grading system, those students near the class average usually end up with a grade in the low "B" range.
Correlation between Homework Score and Exam 1 Score
As advertised, we present the scatter plot of homework scores versus Exam 1 scores. It is interesting to note the large gap, or total lack of homework scores between 20 and 40. The clear trend is that those students with less than 20 points performed well below average on the exam. The second statistically significant trend is that those individuals with homework scores above 70, exclusively did well above average on the exam. If you REALLY put in the effort on the homework, you are likey to do very well on the exams. "A" work on the homework translates to "B+" to "A" scores on the exams. "B" work on the homework translates to "C" to "A" scores on the exams. This tells you really where to concentrate your efforts to obtain the best grade possible.
