Exam 2 Results
Exam Given: March 19, 2008 :
Scores Posted: March 31, 2008
Letter grades are not provided because your letter grade in this class
will be determined by the overall distribution of points at the end of
the semester. However, here you can see where your exam 2 score falls
within the distribution of exam 2 scores. Since this distribution is
a;most a perfect bell curve (Gaussian distribution), I would assign a
straigh curve to this exam. That would mean a 70 is a solid "C". I
would roughly assign letter grades as 60-74.9 is a "C-" to a "C+",
75-89.9 is a "B-" to a "B+", and 90 and above is an "A-" to an "A+".
That is 9 "A"s out of 38 students, 9 "B"s, 15 "C"s, and 5 "D"s. This
is a reasonable dsitribution of grades. But as I said, those letter
grades mean very little at this time. So, do NOT think that
because you have a 60 that you get a "D" or that below 60 is an "F".
That is not the case for this course. However, if you scored below 55
on this exam, I would strongly urge you to "modify" your study habits.
