Where
BX 102 (where class meets)
ADVICE:
1. The structure is: there will be four sections. (1) True/False; (2)
Mulitple Choice; (3) Short Answer, Definitions, Fill in the Blank; and
(4) Longer Answer.
2. Roughly 2/3rds of the questions will be drawn directly (word for
word) from the four midterm exams. Thus, you can do very well just by
studying your previous exams, assuming you have taken the time to get
the correct answers.
3. I recommend that you also study the the outlines for all lectures.
They are available on the schedule page for the
course and they are the links in the "Assignment" column that read
"[Outline]".
4. So this is how I would study. First, I would collect all my
materials by Friday afternoon (are you really thinking of going out to
party on Finals Weekend!!?? If, so I would think again.). I would
start by collecting the correct answers for all of my midterm exams.
I would then be sure to print out all of the lecture outlines and the
Powerpoint slides (the lecture slides). Second, I would study in this
order: I would study the midterm exams and be sure I knew all the
answers. Doing so will give you at least a 67% on the FINAL EXAM.
Then, I would go throug the lecture outlines while at the same time
looking at the Powerpoint lecture slides, which have the important
diagrams.
(ONLY FOR THE DIE HARDS): Very last, if I still wanted to cover more
(and had the time), I would follow the reading assignments and look
over the parts that say "Emphasize Figures" and "Study pp...". And
last of all, I would might conisider looking over the "New Terms".
5. Recall, the FINAL EXAM is worth 20% of your grade. It is worth
less than your lab grade (25%). So, put this exam in perspective of
your overall grade and do not over study.
