The department owns several laptop computers for authorized use by faculty and graduate students. Currently, we own three different Dell laptops. All of these currently run only Windows, and have had the standard Microsoft Office packages loaded on them.

Whenever possible, keep the laptops plugged in using the AC adapter in the case, to avoid draining the battery. If you do use the laptop on battery power, please plug it in when you put it back in the computer room, so the next user will find it fully charged.

The machines have been configured to get dynamic IP addresses. This should enable them to come up on the network successfully when plugged into most ports around NMSU. It is best to plug in the network cable before powering up the machine.
