A. Klypin has 25 yrs of research experience in cosmology and extragalactic astronomy. Testing cosmological models using different techniques is the main focus of his research. He continues to be actively involved in developing new numerical methods for cosmological simulations. He has extensive experience in supercomputing and analysis of observational data. A. Klypin has published more than 100 papers in refereed journals. His main interests are the large-scale structure of the galactic distribution, formation and structure of galaxies and galaxy clusters, galactic models, dark matter in galaxies. He has many collaborators in different countries (Germany, Italy, Israel, Spain, Mexico, and UK). During last 5 years Klypin received large grants for using computer resources at the National Center for Supercomputer Applications, NERSC, NASA AMES, and LRZ (Munchen). Last year allocation of cpu resources for the group was about 2 million hours.

Synergetic activities

Our group provides images and animations for numerous requests from mass media. Those were used by BBC, Sky and Telescope, National Geographic. Recently we created and now maintain our group website with general public access to many high-quality images and animations; http://astronomy.nmsu.ed/aklypin/CosSim. We made some of our numerical codes available for astronomical community.
