Gravity: a Love Story

Abstract: The saying goes that you never forget your first love, but sometimes when we're in the midst of our work, whatever that is, we can forget what made us love science. After all, the scientific enterprise can be wonderful, frustrating, despair-inducing, and rewarding — sometimes in alternating five-minute intervals. Remembering your love of science is essential when communicating science to others, though, whether it's to colleagues at a conference or to a stranger in the coffee shop. In this talk, I'll address the why and how of science communication, based on what I've learned so far and what I'm still learning.
